Bryan Mbeumo has opened up on his excitement ahead of playing UEFA Champions League football with Manchester United next season, admitting he “can’t wait” to experience European nights at Old Trafford.
Speaking during a new episode of the Inside Carrington podcast shared on Manchester United’s official YouTube channel, Mbeumo told Liam Bradford, Softfootball gathered that Helen Evans and former United midfielder Quinton Fortune that representing the club in Europe’s elite competition will be a special moment in his career.

On playing in the champions league next season , he said:
I know it means a lot for the club and for the fans, so I know it’s going to be an unbelievable atmosphere.

Since arriving from Brentford FC last summer, the Cameroon international has become a key figure in United’s squad, helping the club secure a top-five Premier League finish and qualification for the 2026/27 Champions League campaign.
He said
I’m feeling really proud of myself, obviously because it’s never been easy for me,” he tells our podcast panel. [I have] always had to work hard, but I never forgot about what I was wanting. I always believed in myself because I knew I had special abilities as well. I always tried to work hard and I’m really happy for what is coming for me.
I always told myself I wanted to be the best player in the world, so playing these kinds of competitions was really high in my head. Even, as you said, [when] I started in lower leagues and lower teams, I always had this target in my mind.

Only Benjamin Šeško has scored more goals for United this season than Mbeumo, who has netted 10 times in his debut campaign.
Reflecting on his journey through the lower divisions in France and England, the 26-year-old revealed his pride at finally reaching football’s biggest stage, insisting he always believed he had the ability to compete at the very top level.
