Haaland Hits 30 Goals as Norway Crush Estonia, Moves a Step Closer to World Cup

Erling Haaland just can’t stop scoring. The Norwegian star hit the 30-goal mark for the 2025 season after bagging a brace in Norway’s emphatic 4–1 win over Estonia at Ullevaal Stadion on November 13, 2025, a victory that edges the nation ever closer to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Manchester City striker struck twice in quick succession, in the 56th and 62nd minutes, both with his head, taking his international tally to a staggering 53 goals in just 47 games. Despite Rio Ferdinand’s advice to defenders on how to stop the Norwegian, it seems stopping him is mission impossible.

Those goals came right after Alexander Sørloth’s double (50’ and 52’), which opened the floodgates after a cagey first half. This was a totally different vibe from when Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick against Israel that drew plaudits from Manchester City.

Norway praised the two heroes of the night in a post made via their official X account, calling Sorloth and Haaland the team’s powerhouse.

They posted:

With this result, Norway sit comfortably on 21 points from seven matches in UEFA Group I, boasting a far better goal difference than second-placed Italy, who trail by six points with a game in hand. Softfootball understands that Norway will officially qualify for their first World Cup since 1998 if Italy fails to beat Moldova later tonight. Even if the Italians do win, Ståle Solbakken’s men can seal qualification by avoiding a heavy loss in their final group tie at San Siro on Sunday.

It was a quiet first half, but Norway burst to life after the restart. Sørloth rose highest to nod in Sander Berge’s cross, then finished off Julian Ryerson’s delivery moments later. Haaland’s double then killed off any Estonian hope, though Robi Saarma grabbed a late consolation, his first-ever international goal, in the 64th minute.

With 33 goals in seven games, Norway now holds the best attacking record in European qualifying. Haaland’s 14 goals in the campaign put him just two shy of Robert Lewandowski’s all-time mark of 16 in a single UEFA qualifying round.
