Erling Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge Haaland, has fuelled fresh speculation over his son’s future by refusing to rule out a potential move to Real Madrid, Softfootball reports.
The comments came ahead of Norway’s stunning World Cup quarter-final qualification, where Haaland produced a sensational late brace to eliminate tournament favourites Brazil and send the Scandinavians into the last eight.
The Manchester City striker is now the joint-leading scorer at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with seven goals, alongside Argentina captain Lionel Messi and France star Kylian Mbappé.
Speaking to DAZN before the match, Alf-Inge Haaland insisted his son remains happy at Manchester City but admitted that Real Madrid’s appeal is impossible to ignore.
“A move to Real Madrid? He’s very happy at Manchester City and has a long contract,
he said.
We’re waiting for the new season, but anyone would want to play for Madrid. You never know what can happen in football.
While Haaland remains under a long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium, his father’s comments are likely to reignite speculation over whether a future move to the Spanish giants could eventually become a reality.
