Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has responded to reports linking him with a return to former club Almeria, insisting he is leaving the future in God’s hands, softfootball reports.

Sadiq enjoyed a prolific spell with the Spanish club, scoring 40 goals in 79 league appearances before sealing a move to Real Sociedad in 2022.

However, the 27-year-old has endured a difficult time at Sociedad. A serious injury ruled him out for most of his debut season, while limited playing opportunities have continued to hamper his progress.

Recent reports have suggested Almeria are interested in bringing the Nigerian striker back, but Sadiq stopped short of confirming any potential move.

“With Almeria, it’s always a pleasure. We never know what the future comes with,” Sadiq told Tribal Football.

Asked directly about the possibility of returning to the club, he replied: “I don’t know. Let’s see what will happen in the future.”

Despite the speculation, Sadiq remains under contract with Real Sociedad, with his next move expected to become clearer when the transfer window opens.
