Softfootball Nigeria gathered standout performances from Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare, Ademola Lookman and Kelechi Iheanacho between 28–30 August 2026, while Sadiq Umar reacted on Instagram after being omitted from the Super Eagles weekend goalscorers post.
Here are the players and their performances,
Victor Osimhen

The Super Eagles talisman Victor Osimhen continued his wonderful run for Galatasaray against Göztepe, scoring a goal and providing an assist while winning the Player of the Match award. Galatasaray won the match 3–2.
Tolu Arokodare

Arokodare, who joined Ajax from Wolves after completing a loan move with a £22m option in late July 2026, scored in Ajax’s 4–0 win over SC Telstar. He found the net in the 60th minute, the third goal of the match.
Ademola Lookman

The 2024 African Player of the Year delivered another top performance for Atlético Madrid against Sevilla, scoring with 100% shot accuracy and 100% pass accuracy. Atlético won 3–1 in La Liga matchday 3. Álex Baena opened the scoring in the 4th minute and made it 3–0 in the 33rd minute, Lookman struck in the 26th minute, while Miguel Sierra pulled one back for Sevilla in the 66th minute.
Kelechi Iheanacho

Iheanacho continued his scoring streak for Bursaspor, finding the net again in their 2–1 loss to Fatih Karagümrük. He had earlier scored in Bursaspor’s 1–0 win over Igdir F.K., and also scored and assisted on his Bursaspor debut.
Sadiq Umar

Not forgeting Sadiq Umar, who called out the Super Eagles Instagram page after being omitted from their weekend goalscorers review covering Friday 28 – Sunday 30 August 2026, despite scoring for Valencia against Deportivo.
Reacting to a fan’s comment questioning the omission, Umar jokingly labelled the admin “enemies of progress”, adding that they must have “moved him to NBA.”
