Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingos, delivered a commanding statement in their quest to reach the 2026 FIFA U‑17 Women’s World Cup, defeating Guinea 5–0 in the first leg of their qualifying tie. The match, played at the Félix Houphouet‑Boigny Stadium, showcased Nigeria’s superiority from start to finish.




Softfootball gathered, Captain Harmony Chidi was the star of the evening, scoring a brilliant hat‑trick with goals in the 1st, 12th, and 36th minutes, setting the tone for a dominant display. Her performance reaffirmed her status as one of the brightest young talents in African women’s football.
The Flamingos extended their lead through:
