The Super Falcons have been forced to refocus after their disappointing 1–0 quarter‑final defeat to Cameroon at the 2026 WAFCON. That result ended Nigeria’s hopes of claiming a record‑extending 11th continental title and also meant they missed out on automatic qualification for the World Cup.

With the disappointment now behind them, the players have turned their attention fully towards the playoff. Training camp has reportedly remained upbeat, with the squad showing determination and a strong desire to respond to the setback.

The final session focused on sharpening preparations ahead of the important encounter, with the players fully aware of what is at stake against their South African rivals.

Softfootball believes, Nigeria will need to produce a strong performance against Banyana Banyana as they continue their fight for a place at Brazil 2027. The Super Falcons are expected to give everything on the pitch as they look to keep their World Cup ambitions firmly alive.
