Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has been named La Liga’s Coach of the Month for September after guiding the Catalan giants through another impressive run of results.
Flick’s side maintained their perfect league record during the month, producing a strong attacking display while continuing to show consistency at the top of the table. The award adds another individual honour to Flick’s growing collection since taking charge of Barcelona.
Softfootball reports that Flick’s September campaign included victories over Valencia, Levante, Racing Santander and Sevilla, with Barcelona scoring heavily across those fixtures. His recognition comes after he was also nominated alongside Atlético Madrid’s Diego Simeone and Real Betis’ Manuel Pellegrini.
One of the major factors behind Barcelona’s attacking success has been the form of Raphinha, who has continued to thrive after being used in a more central striker role.
Flick previously explained that Raphinha’s transition into the striker position was a gradual process, with the Brazilian increasingly comfortable playing through the middle.
The decision has given Barcelona another attacking option and allowed Raphinha to influence games closer to goal.
This tactical shift has transformed the forward into a prolific goalscorer, as his relentless pressing and clinical finishing in central spaces have unlocked defenses and perfectly elevated Barcelona’s dynamic frontline.
The Brazilian’s performances were particularly notable in September, when he scored seven La Liga goals, including back-to-back hat-tricks against Racing Santander and Sevilla.
