It is official, Hansi Flick has signed a new deal with FC Barcelona until 30th June 2028, softfootball confirms. Recall during early April 2026, the Barcelona president Joan Laporta had mentioned Barça would wait until the end of the season before they talked about the renewal.
Today, Monday 18th May 2026, it has now been confirmed as Hansi Flick has renewed his contracting having joined Barcelona as the men’s first-team manager on May 29, 2024, signing an initial two-year deal.
If in his first season Hansi Flick brought hope back to the Barça fans, in the second he confirmed that the excitement was based on reality. The German coach has built a competitive team faithful to the club’s identity, capable of dominating the domestic game and retaking its place amongst the European elite.
With his contract extension, Barcelona assures the continuity of the coach and the project.
