Hansi Flick has publicly confirmed Raphinha will remain at Barcelona, ending growing speculation over a potential departure for Saudi Arabia this summer.

The Barcelona head coach described the Brazilian winger as one of the most important players in his squad, highlighting his quality, intensity and overall contribution to the team’s attacking structure.

Softfootball understands that Flick’s comments come after reports suggested Raphinha had an understanding that could allow him to leave Camp Nou if a major Saudi Arabian offer arrived. However, the German coach is understood to have personally pushed for the 29-year-old to remain for at least another season, believing his departure would significantly disrupt Barcelona’s attack.

Since taking charge, Flick has played a major role in elevating Raphinha’s importance within the team. Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández also previously revealed that he personally pushed the club to sign Raphinha, insisting that the Catalan giants always had complete confidence in the Brazilian’s ability.

With Flick now making his position clear, Barcelona appear determined to keep the winger despite the financial appeal of potential Saudi interest. His continued presence is expected to be crucial as the Catalan club prepares for another campaign competing for domestic and European honours.
