Edo Queens and FC Masar shared the spoils after playing out a goalless draw in their Group B encounter at the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League.

Softfootball understands that victory for either side would have placed them in a commanding position to qualify for the semi-finals, but a disciplined defensive display from both teams ensured the match ended without a goal.

FC Masar entered the contest full of confidence after their impressive 1-0 victory over defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their opening fixture, while Edo Queens were equally buoyant following a convincing 3-0 win against Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.

Both debutants created several promising opportunities throughout the match, but resolute defending and outstanding goalkeeping at both ends kept the scoreline level.

The result leaves Edo Queens at the top of Group B with four points, while FC Masar also move to four points but remain behind the Nigerian champions on goal difference.

Edo Queens will conclude their group-stage campaign against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, with a place in the semi-finals still firmly within their grasp.
