Cristian Chivu Set for New Inter Deal as PSG Prepare Luis Enrique Extension

Softfootball has gathered that Cristian Chivu is set to sign a new long-term contract with Inter Milan before the end of May 2026.

The development was confirmed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano throgh his official X account following earlier reports that negotiations between both parties were progressing positively ahead of next season.

According to the latest update, the new agreement will run until June 2028 with an additional option extending the deal until June 2029. The contract will also include a salary increase, underlining Inter Milan’s confidence in Chivu’s work and long-term vision for the club.

Chivu, a former treble-winning Inter player, has continued to strengthen his reputation in management after successfully transitioning from club legend to head coach.

The extension is viewed internally as a move aimed at maintaining stability within Inter’s sporting project while rewarding the Romanian tactician for his performances since taking charge. Supporters have also reacted positively to the news, seeing Chivu as a figure who understands the club’s identity and ambitions.
