Barcelona will conclude their pre-season preparations when they face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Wednesday, with Hansi Flick’s side aiming to lift the famous trophy for a record-extending 48th time.
The Catalan giants have enjoyed a mixed pre-season, winning three of their five matches, but they head into the fixture with confidence after an impressive 5-2 victory over Basel. Barcelona will then turn their attention to their La Liga opener against Elche on August 23.

Al Ahly, meanwhile, have played just one friendly this summer, losing 2-1 to CE Europa. The Egyptian champions finished third in the league last season and will use this encounter as their final preparation before facing Enppi.
Softfootball believes Barcelona’s superior quality should give them the advantage, although Al Ahly could provide a stern test.
Team News
Barcelona will be without Frenkie de Jong and Roony Bardghji through injury. Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsí and Dani Olmo are available after returning from international duty. Raphinha could again operate centrally, while Anthony Gordon and Hamza Abdelkarim may feature.
Al Ahly will miss Youssef Belammari and Ibrahim El Asyuti, while Hussein El Shahat and Mounsef Bakrar are expected to start.
Possible Lineups
Barcelona: J Garcia; Koundé, Cubarsí, Martin, Balde; Bernal, Espart; Gordon, Olmo, Yamal; Raphinha.
Al Ahly: Shobeir; Hany, Ibrahim, Reyad, Mohamed; Ateya, Kouka, Ashour; Zizo, Bakrar, El Shahat.
Barcelona are also preparing for another move in the transfer market, with the club set to sign João Cancelo for a third time following his exit from Al Hilal.
