Paris Saint-Germain have officially confirmed the signing of Ferran Torres from Barcelona on a five-year contract, with the Spanish international set to wear the No.9 shirt.
The guaranteed transfer fee is understood to be in the region of €45 million, with PSG having identified Torres as a target before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Torres made it clear during negotiations that Paris Saint-Germain was his preferred destination, with the French champions attracted by his versatility and ability to operate across multiple attacking positions.
The 26-year-old also already has a strong relationship with Luis Enrique, who handed him his first opportunity with the Spanish national team.
Speaking after completing the move, Torres said:
I’m delighted to be beginning a new adventure at such an ambitious club as Paris Saint-Germain.
He also thanked PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Luis Campos and Luis Enrique for giving him the opportunity to join the club, adding that he hopes to help the team win as many trophies as possible.
Softfootball confirmed two days ago that PSG were closing in on Torres’ signing from Barcelona, with final negotiations between the two clubs underway.
The transfer has now been completed, with Torres beginning a new chapter in France and becoming another major attacking addition for the European champions.
