Coventry City have signed Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest, completing a fee of around £17 million. He will wear the No. 14 shirt for the Sky Blues. Reacting to his transfer, Awoniyi mentioned he would be looking forward to working with his new team.
This was his comment to the media:
I’m really looking forward to working with my new teammates. I saw how amazing they were last season. Coming up from the Championship, they were incredible, and now I’m excited to join them and get started for the new season.
Softfootball understands Awoniyi will be joining his fellow Nigerian Super Eagles teammate Frank Onyeka, who signed a permanent deal as a midfielder, ending his three‑year spell at Brentford in June 2026.
