Barcelona winger Raphinha has been named La Liga Player of the Month for September 2026, completing a remarkable run of consecutive monthly awards after also receiving the honour for August.
The Brazilian forward’s outstanding performances have made him a central figure in Barcelona’s impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign under Hansi Flick. Raphinha began the season in prolific form, scoring five goals and providing an assist during August to help Barcelona win all four of their opening league matches. His performances earned him the first monthly award of the campaign, recognising his decisive contribution to the team’s attacking output.
The 29-year-old continued his scoring exploits in September, recording seven goals and two assists across four La Liga matchdays. His performances included a goal against Valencia and consecutive hat-tricks against Racing Santander and Sevilla, taking his league tally to 12 goals and three assists at the time of the September award announcement.
Operating in a more central attacking role under Flick, Raphinha has demonstrated his ability to influence matches through his movement, pressing, creativity and finishing. His versatility has allowed Barcelona to maintain an aggressive attacking approach, while his leadership has also become increasingly important following his appointment as club captain.

The Brazilian’s achievements come amid significant developments regarding his future at Camp Nou. Barcelona confirmed in September that Raphinha’s contract renewal had been agreed in principle, with the new deal set to keep him at the club until June 2030. The extension reflects Barcelona’s intention to retain one of their key attacking players for the coming seasons.
Raphinha’s consecutive awards underline his influence during the opening months of the campaign and provide further recognition of his development under Flick.
