❗️ “Bernardo will decide after World Cup”, agent Jorge Mendes tells me.

The initial expectation was that Silva would resolve his future before the tournament, but the Portuguese star has decided to focus entirely on representing Portugal before addressing transfer matters.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, confirmed the change in approach, stating: “Bernardo will decide after the World Cup.”

Silva is set to leave Manchester City this summer after an outstanding nine-year spell at the club. Since arriving from AS Monaco in 2017, he has made 460 appearances and scored 76 goals, establishing himself as one of the most influential players of the club’s modern era.

The 31-year-old captained City during the 2025/26 season and has been linked with several clubs, including FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.

Interestingly, Silva had previously indicated in May that he wanted to settle his future before the World Cup and also ruled out an immediate return to SL Benfica. However, with no agreement yet in place, the midfielder has opted to postpone any decision until after the global tournament.

For now, Silva’s full attention remains on helping Portugal compete for World Cup glory before choosing the next chapter of his career.
