Super Eagles and FC Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi has won his first trophy of the new season after FC Porto defeated Torreense 1–0 to lift the 2026 Portuguese Super Cup.
Softfootball gathered Sanusi played the full match at left‑back, contributing in both attack and defence as Porto secured the victory.
Victor Froholdt, in the 38th minute, scored the only goal that handed Porto the win and sealed the 2026 Portuguese Super Cup.
Sanusi has now won 10 trophies with the Dragons since joining in 2020, becoming the third most decorated Nigerian footballer in senior club football history, behind:
- Nwankwo Kanu – 14 trophies
- John Obi Mikel – 12 trophies
Sanusi’s consistency and success in Portugal continue to underline his importance for FC Porto and the Super Eagles.
