Nigeria Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi has been confirmed injured in Liga Portugal matchday 4 during Porto’s game against Académico de Viseu on Saturday, 29 August 2026.
Porto, however, defeated Académico de Viseu 3–1, thanks to goals from André Silva in the 5th minute, Gabri Veiga in the 20th, and William Gomes in the 38th minute.

Softfootball gathered that Zaidu Sanusi started the match but was forced off in the 18th minute after picking up an injury. He was unable to continue and had to be helped off the pitch, raising concerns for both FC Porto and the Nigerian national team.
We are still following updates to ascertain the extent of the injury, however early indications suggest the 29‑year‑old could be out for a couple of weeks.
