David Ozoh has reportedly chosen to represent Nigeria at senior international level.
David Ozoh, born on May 6, 2005, was born to Nigerian parents in Valencia, Spain, where he spent the first eight years of his life. His parents originally migrated from Nigeria to Spain in search of better opportunities.
While David was growing up in Valencia, his parents decided to relocate to the United Kingdom when he was eight years old. They settled in Croydon, South London. Before leaving Spain, several local clubs had already noticed David’s talent and offered him academy trials. Because the family had finalized their move to England, his parents had to turn the trials down.
David was initially upset, but the move proved to be the right one, he joined the Crystal Palace Academy shortly after arriving in the UK.
Now, having played as an England youth player, the 21‑year‑old former England youth international has committed his international future to the Super Eagles. He is currently awaiting final FIFA clearance as well as his Nigerian passport before receiving an official invitation.
Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has been closely monitoring Ozoh as he looks to add more youth, energy, and physical presence to Nigeria’s midfield options.
If all necessary documentation and clearance are completed on time, Ozoh could be in contention for a call‑up when Nigeria take on Russia in an international friendly on October 6.
