AS Roma have submitted an official €25 million offer to FC Porto for highly-rated midfielder Rodrigo Mora, with negotiations now underway over the Portuguese club’s asking price.
Porto are understood to be demanding a higher fee for the 19-year-old, having already been in discussions with Galatasaray for around a week. Jorge Mendes is playing a key role in driving the negotiations as the clubs assess the possibility of reaching an agreement.
Roma are keen to strengthen their squad and see Mora as an important target, but they will need to improve their proposal if Porto maintain their current valuation.
Meanwhile, Softfootball understands that Roma reached an agreement earlier in the summer transfer window to sign Santiago Castro as their new striker.
The Serie A club have finalised a deal worth €35 million, with an agreement reached between all parties.
Castro is expected to undergo his medical in the coming days before completing the final formalities and officially becoming a Roma player.
