FC Porto have informed AS Roma that they want improved conditions regarding the obligation-to-buy clause before giving the final green light for Rodrigo Mora’s proposed move.
Porto president André Villas-Boas is insisting on changes to the structure of the obligation clause before approving the deal. All other aspects of the agreement have been settled, with the mechanism surrounding the future purchase now the only remaining obstacle.
Softfootball previously reported that Roma had submitted an official €25 million offer to Porto for the highly-rated midfielder, with negotiations continuing over the Portuguese club’s demands.
Porto have been pushing for better financial conditions and had also been in discussions with Galatasaray over the 19-year-old. Jorge Mendes has been heavily involved in driving the negotiations.
Roma remain hopeful of completing the deal, with both clubs now focused on resolving the final details of the obligation-to-buy clause.
Roma’s latest business reflects the club’s ambition to build on last season’s success by securing both emerging attacking talent and the long-term future of key players.
