England head coach Thomas Tuchel has acknowledged the quality shown by Senegal after the Three Lions suffered a 3-1 defeat in Tuesday’s international friendly.

Softfootball reports that England struggled to impose themselves against the Teranga Lions, who produced an impressive performance and became the first African side to defeat England at senior international level.

Tuchel admitted that Senegal presented a serious challenge and made life difficult for his players throughout the encounter. The German coach will now look for improvements as England continue preparations for their competitive fixtures.

The result was a disappointing one for England, particularly after they had taken an early lead. However, Senegal responded strongly and punished defensive mistakes to secure a memorable victory.

Tuchel believes the experience will provide valuable lessons for his squad. The manager is expected to use the coming international period to assess his players and address weaknesses exposed by the defeat.

England will now turn their attention to future World Cup qualification fixtures, while Senegal can take significant confidence from a historic result against one of Europe’s leading football nations.
