Claudio Ranieri has dismissed suggestions that he will handpick his successor at Roma when he steps down as head coach at the end of the season. The veteran Italian tactician explained that while he will move into a management role, the final decision on the club’s next manager will remain with the club’s president.
Ranieri revealed that one of his responsibilities will be to identify and recommend suitable candidates capable of leading Roma into the future.
However, Softfootball understands he stressed that his role is strictly advisory and not one that gives him the authority to make the appointment.
The experienced coach also praised his players for the attitude they have shown since he returned to the club. According to Ranieri, the squad has responded positively after a difficult start to the campaign and understands the importance of maintaining high standards.
