Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Vitor Pereira has promised that his side will take an attacking approach when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League.
Wolves head into the difficult fixture knowing they face one of the league’s strongest sides, but Pereira has no intention of instructing his players to sit deep for the entire match.
Instead, the Portuguese manager wants his team to play with confidence, use their strengths and compete for a positive result against Arne Slot’s Liverpool.
Pereira believes Wolves must be brave in possession while remaining disciplined enough to deal with the attacking threat posed by the league leaders.
Pereira said:
I’m not thinking about going there to defend for 90 minutes and take a point. We want to play our way and get the best possible result.
The Wolves boss also acknowledged Liverpool’s quality but insisted he has complete faith in his own squad. He believes his players have the ability to compete if they execute their game plan effectively.
Liverpool, meanwhile, will be looking to strengthen their position at the top of the Premier League table, making the encounter an important test for Pereira and his team.
