Bayern Munich have delivered a firm warning to Liverpool and Real Madrid that Michael Olise is not for sale, regardless of how much either club could offer for the France international.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has insisted that the Bundesliga champions have no reason to consider selling their star winger and “don’t have to waver, no matter the sum”.
Olise is currently under contract with Bayern until 2029 and does not have a release clause in his deal, giving the German giants significant control over his future.
The club are also hoping to open discussions over a new contract and want greater clarity regarding the 24-year-old’s intentions by next summer.
Olise has become one of the most sought-after attacking players in European football following an outstanding 2025/26 campaign with Bayern and impressive performances for France.
The winger recorded 22 goals and 31 assists during the season, establishing himself as one of the leading right-wingers in world football and naturally attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Olise as they consider their long-term options on the right side of attack, particularly with the club needing to plan for life beyond Mohamed Salah.
Real Madrid have also been monitoring the situation as they look to strengthen a position where they have relied on alternative solutions in recent years.
At one stage, Olise was even believed to be the mystery player Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez intended to make a bid for during his re-election campaign. However, no formal offer materialised, largely because Bayern made it clear that they would not entertain his departure.
Softfootball reported in July 2026 that Real Madrid had reaffirmed their respect for Bayern by making it clear they would not pursue Olise without the Bundesliga club’s approval.
Pérez remains a huge admirer of the winger’s ability, but Real Madrid reportedly have no desire to damage their strong institutional relationship with Bayern by attempting to force a transfer.
That stance appears particularly relevant now, with Bayern once again making their position clear.
Eberl’s latest comments suggest that even a huge offer would not automatically convince Bayern to negotiate. Liverpool have reportedly been linked with a potential £100million-plus move, but the German champions are under no financial pressure to sell a player who remains central to their plans.
Bayern’s priority is instead to retain Olise and potentially improve his contractual situation, while also determining whether the player remains fully committed to continuing his career in Munich.
For Liverpool and Real Madrid, the message is therefore straightforward: any potential pursuit will require Bayern’s willingness to negotiate.
With Olise tied down until 2029 and no release clause protecting interested clubs, Bayern are in a particularly strong position. Unless the player himself pushes for a change, the Bundesliga champions appear determined to keep hold of one of the most productive attackers in European football.
