Liverpool Beat Ipswich 2-0 Thanks to Isak’s Early Brace

Liverpool earned their first win of the 2026-27 Premier League season with a 2-0 victory at Ipswich Town. Alexander Isak scored twice inside the opening nine minutes, both assisted by Cody Gakpo, to end the Reds’ six-match winless run.

Liverpool effectively decided the game in the opening stages, with Alexander Isak producing a decisive performance. The Swedish striker converted two assists from Cody Gakpo in the 6th and 9th minutes to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. Ipswich showed some attacking intent after the break and created several promising moments, but Liverpool remained organised and protected their advantage. Bradley Barcola made his debut from the bench, while the Reds ended a six-match winless run in the Premier League with three valuable points.

Liverpool started fast, with Gakpo twice finding Isak in behind the Ipswich defence. The Swedish striker finished clinically in the 6th and 9th minutes to put the visitors firmly in control.

Ipswich responded after the break, with Julio Enciso and Abdul Fatawu showing flashes of danger, but they lacked the finishing touch to trouble Alisson. Liverpool managed the game well, with Bradley Barcola making his debut from the bench, and Iraola’s side secured three valuable points.
