Super Falcons and Galatasaray defender Oluwatosin Demehin shared a heartfelt message to her teammates after picking up a red card in Nigeria’s well‑deserved 1–0 victory over Zambia.
Softfootball gathered that after a VAR review, Blessing Demehin Oluwatosin was shown a red card for a foul on Barbra Banda in the 40th minute. Banda was through on goal, and Demehin, as the last defender, brought her down.
Speaking to the media, Oluwatosin Demehin thanked the Super Falcons for standing strong. Here was her statement:
Forever proud of this team… Thank you for fighting until the very end and standing strong when we were down to 10.
Demehin was sent off during the hard‑fought encounter, leaving the Super Falcons to battle with 10 players. Despite being a player down, the team showed great determination, resilience, and character to protect their lead and secure all three points against Zambia.
