Morocco have endured another heartbreaking WAFCON campaign. After hosting the tournament for a third consecutive edition, the Atlas Lionesses once again fell short of lifting the trophy.

On Wednesday, 12 August 2026, Morocco were beaten 3–1 on penalties by Cameroon in the semi‑finals after a goalless 120 minutes, with Cameroon goalkeeper Michaely Bihina producing a heroic performance to send the Indomitable Lionesses through.

Softfootball confirm’s, this marks three consecutive tournaments Morocco have hosted without winning the title:

🇲🇦 2022 (Hosts): Runners‑up
🇲🇦 2024 (Hosts): Runners‑up
🇲🇦 2026 (Hosts): Semi‑finalists

Three straight WAFCON editions on home soil, yet the wait for a first continental title continues for Morocco.
