However, Mbappe responded in style after halftime, opening the scoring before setting up Ousmane Dembele to seal the win.
Morocco, missing injured midfielder Ismael Saibari, struggled to create meaningful chances despite enjoying slightly more possession in the first half. Their memorable campaign, which included victories over the Netherlands and Canada, came to an end at the quarter-final stage.
With eight goals in the tournament, Mbappe continues to lead France’s title charge as Didier Deschamps’ side now prepare for a blockbuster semi-final against either Spain or Belgium.
