Ademola Lookman has admitted that winning the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award would mean everything to him, as he heads into the ceremony as the overwhelming favourite.
The Atalanta winger will face off against four other nominees for the continental prize, capping off a season in which he’s become one of the standout African players in European football.

Softfootball understands Lookman spoke about the nomination in an interview with Sky Sport Italia. He said:
It’s an honour to be nominated for this prestigious award. Of course, anyone who is nominated would like to win it. It’s a dream.
His case for the award has only strengthened in recent weeks, highlighted by the winning goal in Atalanta’s 2-1 victory over AC Milan on Friday night. The Nigeria international has now registered 10 goals and five assists in 17 appearances across all competitions this season.
Fans across Nigeria and beyond will be hoping Lookman’s outstanding form is rewarded when the winner is announced.
