Liverpool are preparing to submit an opening bid for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola as they step up their pursuit of one of their top summer targets.
Softfootball understands the Reds remain in pole position, having led the race for the 23-year-old since April.
Barcola has not yet agreed personal terms with Liverpool, but he is keen on the move and views Anfield as an attractive destination should the clubs reach an agreement.
Liverpool are expected to point to Barcola’s contract situation during negotiations, with the French international entering the final two years of his deal and currently not expected to sign an extension.
PSG, however, continue to value Barcola at €170 million, using the recent high-profile transfers of Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson as benchmarks for their asking price.

While Liverpool hope Barcola’s contract status will help lower the fee, PSG remain under no immediate pressure to sell and are expected to drive a hard bargain.
Negotiations are expected to intensify once Liverpool’s opening offer is formally submitted, with Barcola remaining one of the Premier League champions’ priority attacking targets.
