FIFA Be Active Campaign Engages Youth Ahead of 2026 World Cup

FIFA has launched its “Be Active” campaign in Vancouver, bringing together over 40 children from the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations for football skills sessions alongside FIFA Legends. Images from the campaign was shared on FIFA’s official X account.

The initiative forms part of activities surrounding the 76th FIFA Congress and preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

Softfootball understands that the “Be Active” program, a long-running FIFA initiative, is designed to promote youth physical activity, healthy lifestyles, and grassroots engagement through football clinics.

This edition places particular emphasis on community involvement and cultural inclusion, reflecting Vancouver’s role as a host city for the upcoming global tournament.

The event also highlights FIFA’s efforts toward Indigenous inclusion, recognizing that Vancouver is located on the traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. It forms part of broader goals around reconciliation and cultural integration in the build-up to the World Cup.

Earlier reports noted that FIFA turned global football attention toward Vancouver within week as it hosts the 76th FIFA Congress, a key milestone in final preparations for the tournament.

This follows FIFA’s official announcement on April 22, 2026, marking the 50-day countdown to kickoff, signaling the final stretch before the world’s biggest football event begins.
