Softfootball gathered Spain won £50 million for lifting the 2026 World Cup, while Chelsea earned £115 million for winning the Club World Cup in 2025.

This has shocked fans and football lovers, as many believe the FIFA World Cup is the biggest and most popular competition in football, yet the Club World Cup winners earned significantly more than the world champions.

Chelsea lifted the trophy for a second time by dominating Paris Saint-Germain in a 3–0 victory at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This was a historic milestone as they became the inaugural winners of FIFA’s newly revamped, 32-team quadrennial tournament.
