Edo Queens had defeated Ampem Darkoa Ladies 4-1 on penalties after both teams finished regulation time level at 2-2.

However, CAF maintains that the final should have proceeded into extra time following the draw, leading to the decision that has now been challenged by the Nigerian side.

The matter has now been placed before the CAF Appeals Board, which will review the appeal submitted by Edo Queens through the NFF.

At the moment, no decision has been made on the appeal, with both clubs awaiting the outcome of the review process.

The case has become a major talking point following Edo Queens’ triumph in the final, with the CAF Appeals Board expected to determine the next step regarding the disputed result.
