Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has heaped praise on former Leicester teammate Ademola Lookman, describing him as one of the most humble and hardworking players he’s ever played alongside.

Lookman was crowned the 2024 CAF Player of the Year at a ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco on Monday, finishing ahead of Achraf Hakimi, Simon Adingra, Serhou Guirassy, and Ronwen Williams to succeed compatriot Victor Osimhen as Africa’s top player.

Softfootball gathers that Dewsbury-Hall shared his admiration for his former teammate on social media shortly after the announcement. He wrote:

Come a long way, so proud bro. Most humble, hard working guy.

Lookman’s remarkable year also included helping Nigeria reach the AFCON final, where he scored three goals and was named in the Team of the Tournament, before capping his season with a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, a performance that later earned him a Ballon d’Or nomination.
