Chelsea are reportedly leading the race to sign 16-year-old Tornike Kvaratskhelia, the younger brother of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The teenager has attracted significant attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs after making his senior debut for Dinamo Tbilisi despite his young age.
Tornike currently plays for the Georgian club where his older brother began his own football journey, and his performances have already generated considerable interest across Europe.
Like Khvicha, Tornike operates as a winger and is viewed as an exciting young talent with the potential to follow in his brother’s footsteps.
Chelsea and Tottenham are currently regarded as the frontrunners for his signature, with both Premier League clubs monitoring the teenager closely and hoping to secure his services before his reputation grows even further.
Competition for Tornike is already intensifying, however. Bayern Munich remain interested after the youngster trained with the German giants in May and also featured for their youth side.
Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Brighton and Aston Villa are also believed to have made contact regarding a potential move.
Any Premier League transfer, however, faces a significant restriction because British clubs cannot sign foreign players under the age of 18 under current regulations. As a result, an agreement for Tornike to move to England cannot be completed until 2028.
That means Chelsea’s reported advantage may not immediately translate into a completed transfer, with the race potentially continuing over the next two years as clubs monitor the teenager’s development.
Softfootball earlier reported that Paris Saint-Germain are pushing to extend Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s contract before the announcement of the 2026 Ballon d’Or, with the French champions keen to avoid potentially more complicated negotiations should the Georgian winger win the prestigious individual award.
Talks between PSG and Kvaratskhelia have been ongoing for several weeks and are reportedly progressing very positively, with an agreement considered increasingly likely.
The developments surrounding his younger brother add another interesting chapter to the Kvaratskhelia family’s football story.
Both brothers began their careers with Dinamo Tbilisi, although Khvicha made only four appearances for the club before leaving and eventually establishing himself as one of European football’s most exciting attackers.
His breakthrough came after joining Napoli in 2022, where he quickly became a standout player and attracted worldwide attention for his performances.
Tornike now has the opportunity to carve out his own path, although the growing interest from Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich and several other major clubs demonstrates the expectations already surrounding the 16-year-old.
With a potential Premier League move not possible until 2028, Tornike’s development over the next two seasons will be closely monitored as clubs decide whether he can eventually emulate or even surpass the achievements of his older brother.
