Softfootball gathered that André Onana has completed a one-year loan move from Manchester United to Trabzonspor for the 2026/27 season.
The agreement does not include a purchase option or an obligation to buy, meaning the Cameroon international is expected to return to Old Trafford in 2027. The loan also contains performance-related payments worth up to £1.3 million, while Trabzonspor will cover the majority of the goalkeeper’s wages throughout the campaign.
The move comes after Manchester United decided that Onana was not part of their plans for the new season. The 30-year-old initially joined Trabzonspor on loan last summer following a difficult spell at United, where a disappointing performance in the League Cup defeat to Grimsby accelerated his departure.
Onana rebuilt his confidence in Turkey, keeping six clean sheets and conceding 34 goals in 29 Super Lig appearances. His performances convinced Trabzonspor to pursue another temporary deal, allowing the goalkeeper to continue playing regular first-team football.

For Manchester United, the arrangement provides flexibility as the club continues evaluating its long-term goalkeeping options, while Onana receives another opportunity to maintain his form and potentially compete for a place in the squad upon his return in 2027.
