Softfootball understands that Axel Disasi has completed a late move to West Ham United, joining the club on loan from Chelsea until the end of the 2025/26 season. The transfer was confirmed just before the January deadline, as reported by Fabrizio Romano via his official X account.
He posted:
Axel Disasi to West Ham, here we go! Deal completed in time and now all approved. Understand #WHUFC and Chelsea have agreed all terms of loan deal until end of the season. Medical done earlier and documents now ok.
Following a recent report that West Ham were waiting on a Disasi green light after reaching an agreement with Chelsea, all paperwork is now finalised in time, the medical is completed, and the defender is now officially a West Ham player, at least for the rest of the campaign.

The agreement is a straight loan, with no option or obligation to buy included. Disasi is expected to return to Chelsea at the end of the season, although strong performances in claret and blue could reopen talks later on.
Disasi still has more than three and a half years left on his Chelsea contract but had fallen completely out of favor. He was sidelined under Enzo Maresca and then again under new head coach Liam Rosenior.

Several clubs were circling late in the window. AC Milan was also highly linked with the player, but the final call rested with the player. Disasi ultimately chose West Ham, prioritizing regular minutes and a clear role over other options.
Sitting third-bottom in the Premier League, West Ham are deep in a relegation scrap. Head coach Nuno Espírito Santo pushed hard for defensive reinforcements, and Disasi offers experience, leadership, and versatility, capable of playing both centre-back and right-back. With defensive options stretched thin, his arrival could prove season-defining.
