Chelsea were held to a 2-2 draw by Hull City in an entertaining contest as both sides traded blows until the final whistle, with referee Farai Hallam bringing the game to an end after six minutes of added time.
Softfootball understands that Chelsea have rewarded Pedro Neto with a new five-year contract following his strong start to the season. Neto started the game on the right before Chelsea pushed forward in search of victory, with Morgan Rogers opening the scoring in the seventh minute after being played through by João Pedro.
Hull responded quickly, with Mohamed Belloumi levelling in the 28th minute before adding his second shortly afterwards to put the visitors 2-1 ahead. João Pedro restored Chelsea’s parity in the 66th minute after Cole Palmer reacted first in a crowded penalty area.
Chelsea pushed for a winner late on, but Konstantinos Tzolakis produced important saves, while Palmer also missed a huge chance by firing over the bar.
