Aston Villa captain John McGinn has opened up on his incredible journey at the club as he celebrated his 300th appearance, reflecting on the influence Unai Emery has had on his development on and off the pitch.
Softfootball earlier reported that Aston Villa marked McGinn’s landmark appearance with special signed-shirt giveaways for fans, highlighting his importance to the club’s modern era.

Softfootball also recently celebrated Unai Emery on his 54th birthday, noting that his legacy, both at Villa and across European football is one that will be remembered for generations.
According to the Aston Villa official X handle, McGinn spoke glowingly about Emery’s arrival and the immediate impact he had on him and the squad, he said:
His desire, dedication, work rate to make this club succeed can never be faulted and I think for me personally he has helped me grow so much as a player, as a captain.
Whether I play center back in Ajax or left back in the cup against Everton or anywhere in midfield, upfront, left, right… he knows from the first conversation we had that I was willing to play anywhere for him and for the club.
