Unai Emery has praised Aston Villa for finishing the season in what he described as an “outstanding way” after securing both a top-four Premier League finish and the UEFA Europa League title.
Reflecting on the campaign, as gathered by Softfootball from his post-match press conference shared on the club’s YouTube channel, Emery highlighted the club’s consistency, mentality, and ability to produce major performances against top opposition throughout the season.
The Aston Villa manager specifically pointed to memorable victories over Liverpool and Manchester City as examples of the team’s growth and resilience.
Villa produced a thrilling 4-2 win over Liverpool during one of their standout attacking performances of the campaign, while they also secured a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory away at the Etihad Stadium against Manchester City.
According to Emery, those victories reflected the progress Aston Villa have made under his leadership and demonstrated the competitive level the squad has now reached.
The Spaniard went on to congratulate the players, club staff, and supporters for their contribution throughout what has become one of the most successful modern seasons in Aston Villa’s history.
Very fantastic. Outstanding how we finish the season and the Premier league is the most important, the priority. We started and finish fourth achieving in the next year in Europe champion league and of course beating teams at the beginning. They were starting contender more than us to be here but we are fighting fantastic. How we finish winning against Liverpool at home last week and today against Manchester city way is really fantastic at 65 pounds of course congratulation for the players, congratulation the club for every worker contribution, congratulation the supporters as well. They were here as well in the stadium and Europe is trophy for a long time after a long time and of course something make us so proud of the work we did and to learn today another experience we had here winning and how we played.
