Softfootball can confirm Arsenal have completed the signing of goalkeeper Illan Meslier after the Frenchman successfully underwent his medical and signed his contract with the club.
The move comes as Arsenal continue to reshape their squad this summer. It follows Besiktas reaching a club-to-club agreement with the Gunners to sign Leandro Trossard in a deal worth €18 million plus a further €2 million in add-ons.
The 26-year-old arrives as a free agent following the expiration of his Leeds United contract at the end of last month, bringing significant Premier League experience to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Meslier spent six seasons at Elland Road, making 215 appearances in all competitions and playing a key role in Leeds United’s promotions to the Premier League in 2020 and 2025.

The French goalkeeper is expected to provide experienced depth at the Emirates, replacing Tommy Setford as Arsenal’s third-choice goalkeeper behind David Raya and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the completion of Meslier’s move on Wednesday morning, with the goalkeeper now set to begin preparations for the 2026/27 season in North London.
