Liverpool have reached a full agreement in principle with Eintracht Frankfurt for the signing of French striker Hugo Ekitike, sources confirm to Softfootball.

According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, who revealed on his X handle the deal with the German-based striker tweeted saying:

“BREAKING | Hugo #Ekitike to Liverpool is considered a done deal!

“A full agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt in principle has now been reached after new talks today. Transfer fee: €95 million with add-ons included. “

The deal, understood to be worth €95 million including add-ons, brings an end to weeks of negotiations and marks the latest major sale by Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche, who has built a reputation for securing top value for outgoing talent.

Ekitike, 22, is set to sign a six-year contract that will keep him at Anfield until June 2031, with the player scheduled to undergo medical tests in the coming days.

The France U21 international scored 13 goals in 29 Bundesliga appearances last season after joining Frankfurt permanently from PSG, and his blend of athleticism, sharp movement, and final-third quality caught the attention of multiple Premier League clubs.

But Liverpool have moved decisively to secure the versatile forward, who is expected to compete for a starting spot under new head coach Arne Slot, with the Reds preparing for life after Mohamed Salah and reshaping their frontline.

Ekitike becomes the fifth major signing of Liverpool’s summer window and signals intent as the club looks to maintain its status as a Champions League contender.

Meanwhile, Softfootball had earlier reported that Liverpool is set to agree to a loan request from West Ham for Harvey Elliott.

West Ham United have reportedly expressed interest in highly rated Liverpool talent Harvey Elliott as they look to bolster their attacking options. Comfortable as either a midfielder or winger, Elliott has shown flashes of brilliance for Liverpool in recent years but struggled for consistent minutes under Arne Slot last season.

Fresh from his summer heroics, having guided England’s under-21s to a second successive European title under Lee Carsley, Elliott’s club future now comes under the spotlight amid links with Premier League rivals.
