Manchester United have sent a new contract proposal to Bruno Fernandes, with the offer initially presented to the captain in May as the club continue efforts to secure his long-term future at Old Trafford.

Softfootball suggested that negotiations are still ongoing, with discussions centred on the length of the contract, salary package and the €65 million release clause currently included in his existing agreement.

Despite recent speculation over a potential move to Turkey, there are currently no plans for Fernandes to join Galatasaray this summer. Manchester United remain determined to keep their captain and are working to reach an agreement over improved terms.

Fernandes continues to be viewed as a central figure in United’s plans, particularly as the club prepare for the new campaign under Michael Carrick.

The Portuguese midfielder recently featured as United drew 1-1 with Leeds United in pre-season, further underlining his importance to the squad as preparations continue.
