Bright Osayi-Samuel is expected to leave Fenerbahce at the end of the season after the Turkish club reportedly failed to meet the Nigerian defender’s salary demands.
The Super Eagles full-back has been locked in contract discussions with the Istanbul giants for several months, but no breakthrough has been reached. Softfootball understands Fenerbahce have now ended negotiations with the 27-year-old and are preparing for his possible departure when his current deal expires this summer.
Osayi-Samuel is seeking a significant wage increase over his current contract, which reportedly earns him less than €3 million annually. However, the club have been unwilling to match his financial expectations.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, the former Queens Park Rangers defender is attracting strong interest from the Premier League, with Crystal Palace and Fulham among the clubs monitoring his situation.
Osayi-Samuel has made 16 Turkish Super Lig appearances under Jose Mourinho this season and has also featured in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Turkish Cup, remaining an important member of the Fenerbahce squad.
