Sevilla manager Garcia Pimienta has expressed confidence in Kelechi Iheanacho ahead of his side’s Copa del Rey fixture against Olot, softfootball reports.
The Rojiblancos will travel to the Camp Municipal on Thursday night for the second-round encounter, with Iheanacho expected to feature after scoring twice in Sevilla’s 3-0 victory over Las Rozas in the previous round.
The Nigerian forward has found opportunities limited in La Liga this season, failing to score in seven league appearances. Despite that, Pimienta remains confident in the former Leicester City striker’s quality and ability to make a significant contribution.
Pimienta explained that Iheanacho was close to featuring in Sevilla’s last outing but a tactical adjustment prompted by an injury changed his plans.
“He was ready to come on, but Lokonga had a slight issue and Agoumé went out. He’s training very well. He hasn’t played more because I’ve considered that Isaac is doing well.
“Tomorrow he will participate, and if you look at his CV, you can see he’s a great player. In no case are we considering anything else,” the Sevilla boss said.
