Elliot Anderson has made it clear where his head is at right now amid growing speculation surrounding his Nottingham Forest future, insisting that his full focus is on England and the upcoming World Cup.

In a clip posted by Sky Sports on their X handle , the midfielder was asked about the uncertainty around his club situation and whether it could become a distraction ahead of a huge summer for both club and country.

But Anderson shut that conversation down quickly and directly, showing that for now, everything else is secondary to international duty.

Speaking candidly, Anderson said:

“Yeah, obviously we’ve got the World Cup this summer, so all my eyes are on that. Playing for England, I’ve obviously got the badge on now, so that’s all I’m thinking about at the moment.”

It was a calm but telling response from a player who has found himself in a difficult domestic campaign with Nottingham Forest, while also trying to break into the biggest stage in international football.

He was then asked about the emotional shift from being involved in a relegation battle at club level to suddenly stepping into an England environment filled with expectation and elite competition. Anderson responded maturely, saying:

“Yeah, definitely, but ultimately all the games are the same. I’m just going on the pitch and trying to give my best and fight for whatever strip I’ve got on. Yeah, that’s all I’m doing.”

That mentality has become even more important considering the chaos surrounding Nottingham Forest this season. The club’s struggles have only deepened after Tottenham Hotspur slumped to a shocking 3-0 home defeat against Forest earlier in the campaign, a result that reminded many people how dangerous Forest can still be despite their inconsistency.

Yet off the pitch, the instability has arguably been even louder. Nottingham Forest recently made headlines after parting ways with Edu Gaspar in a shock decision involving the club’s football structure, adding another layer of uncertainty to an already tense campaign.

With the relegation battle intensifying, players like Anderson are now being forced to balance survival pressure with personal ambition.

Still, Anderson’s words suggest he is refusing to let the outside noise consume him. Instead of feeding transfer talk or reacting emotionally to the uncertainty around Forest, he is choosing to keep things simple: perform, stay ready, and fight for every shirt he wears. That kind of mindset could prove crucial if he wants to force his way into England’s World Cup plans.

As Softfootball reported, Anderson’s response was not just about shutting down rumours  it was a statement of intent from a player trying to rise above club turmoil and keep his biggest dream firmly in sight.
