Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo has made it clear that he intends to remain at Anfield despite speculation surrounding his future.

Softfootball reports that the Japan international has no plans to leave Liverpool this summer and remains focused on continuing his career with the Premier League club.

Endo joined Liverpool from Stuttgart and has provided valuable experience and defensive cover in midfield. His work rate, tactical discipline and leadership have made him a useful squad option.

The midfielder has faced competition for regular playing time, particularly as Liverpool continue to strengthen their squad. That has led to speculation that he could consider another move.

Endo, however, appears determined to stay and compete for his place. His experience could be particularly useful during a season involving domestic and European commitments.

Liverpool are entering another period of transition and will need depth across midfield if they are to challenge on several fronts. Endo’s willingness to remain could therefore provide manager Arne Slot with an experienced alternative.

The Japanese midfielder will need to take advantage of opportunities when they arrive and maintain his physical and tactical standards.
