Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk believes the club is in a stronger position to challenge for trophies after learning valuable lessons from last season’s disappointing finish.

Despite competing on multiple fronts, the Reds ended the campaign with only the Carabao Cup, falling short in the Premier League title race.

Speaking after Liverpool secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, Van Dijk stressed the importance of remaining focused throughout the remainder of the season.

Softfootball reports that the Dutch defender believes the experience gained last year has helped the squad mature mentally. He urged his teammates to approach every match individually instead of getting carried away by title expectations.

Van Dijk also highlighted the need for a fully fit squad, insisting Liverpool’s ambitions depend on maintaining consistency and keeping key players available.

He praised the team’s calm mentality and strong work ethic under the current coaching staff.

With Liverpool competing on several fronts once again, the experienced defender is confident the squad is better prepared to handle pressure and sustain their challenge until the end of the season.
